Kitschy Business Is Guest Curator At Local Burlington AirBnb!
I'm pleased to announce the first string of vintage art has been installed in the vintage inspired airbnb apartment above Billie Jean Vintage on Battery St. in Burlington! Phew, that was a mouthful! These special pieces are for sale - guests at the bnb can purchase them and pluck them right off the wall then and there! Outside inquiries can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com. Read on for a mini-tour of the pieces hanging in the bnb!
As you enter the apartment, the living room is the first step on your mid-century journey through time. A swanky orange sofa and chartreuse pillows mirror the earth tones on the wall above, found in the 1960's framed crewel embroidery of 3 owls in a leafy tree. *The piece has been sold and is now part of Billie Jean's permanent collection!*
Walk through the living room into the vintage kitchen, where you'll find this stunning 1967 Frank Stella lithograph, produced in a series of 750 for the Lincoln Music Center Festival. Stella currently resides in New York City, and is well-known for his works of abstract minimalism with bright, bold colors. This 24 X 36 poster has been mounted on a stiff poster board backing. It was professionally matted and framed in 2019 by Dostie Bros. Frame Shop & Gallery in Burlington, VT. Price: $550
Wind around the hallway into the classically decorated bedroom and find this amusing pair of paintings on velvet. The owls are perched on snow-tipped branches, accented with glittery pine needles. Shiny plastic beads replace the owls' eyes, adding a pop of color against the deep, black velvet backgrounds. Solid maple wooden frames are included. Price: $45 for pair
If you're visiting Burlington anytime soon and plan on staying in an AirBnb, you'll want to book quickly - the apartment has been filled nearly every night in its first month of operation! Check out the full listing here.
Thanks for keeping up with Kitschy - stay tuned for my next post later this week as I roll out my vintage holiday display at Vintage Inspired Lifestyle Marketplace!
